SAE Aero Design Competition Better known by club members as the "Heavylift Plane", this competition requires teams to build, gas powered, R/C aircrafts that can lift as much payload mass as possible into stable flight. The competition is sponsored by SAE International and Lockheed Martin, SAE International is separate from AIAA so competition participants would need to be national members of SAE.

AIAA Design/Build/Fly Over the years, this competition has come to be known as the electric airplane competition amongst club members because of its repitetive rule for the aircraft to be powered by an electric motor. However, each year the exact mission objectives and payloads change, always giving students new ideas to invent. This year UCF has created two teams:
