===Satellite contact===
When talking to a satellite, the radio must be dopler adjusted to match the relative speed of the satellite. Transmit and receive doppler adjust tracks together.

The typical procedure to contact an FM satellite is to set and forget the transmit frequency, and to adjust the receive frequency for doppler. For a direct overhead pass (12 minute max) it may be necessary to adjust about every 5 seconds, for a total of 20 khz horizon to horizon. Doppler is not constant -- slower at the horizon, and faster as it passes overhead.

A single azimuth rotor connected to a fixed elevation beam antenna is usable for horizon passes. An azimuth / elevation rotor pair will work even better.

A number of radios can be used to do satellite contacts; it helps if the radio supports full duplex (receiving on one band while transmitting on another).
