Project Daedalus is a joint venture among three of the University of Central Florida's major student run organizations. These three organizations are AIAA (American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics), SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space), and the ARC (Amateur Radio Club).

This Project began at the beginning of the Fall 2004 semester here at UCF in response to an intercollegiate competition called "The Race to Black". This competition is sponsored by an organization called JAMSTARS, which is based out of Satellite Beach, FL. The goal of this competition is to have a student designed and built rocket achieve a sub-orbital altitude of 62.5 miles, which is the generally accepted "edge of space".

This website is dedicated to record the ups and downs of this Project as it evolves to reach the final goal. We hope that you will enjoy reading about our endeavors as much as we enjoy participating in them.
